To whom it may concern, I have taught as a classroom teacher, a Title I teacher, and as a special education teacher. All of these experiences have given me skills I use as a teacher. I have a love of books and enjoy sharing them with children. I have always enjoyed working with children. I enjoy watching their faces when the lesson I am teaching suddenly makes sense to them! I am a college student who has taken calculus, calculus II, and multi-variable calculus. I have recieved A's in all of these classes and consider myself to be very capable of teaching high school level mathematics. My major is currently declared as Studio Art with a concentration in woodworking. I initially began study as an engineer and completed the first year of classes before deciding to pursue Studio Art with an intention to attend architecture school down the road. I still have an interest in both Engineering and Computer Programming, but such areas are currently more of a hobby than an expected profession.

The school of Education in North Carolina prepared me well. I am above all flexible. My license reads K-8 and I have taught Art K-6 for a year, Second Grade for two years in NC. Then in 2001 I taught Title One reading in TN for a year then Fourth grade for three more years. My family moved to Northern VA and I taught Fifth grade there for two years before moving back to TN for a year where I taught 8th grade Algebra, and 7th grade English. Since moving to Maine I have only had oppurtunity to work with alterative special Ed with grades 6, 7 and 8.
I have worked with students who were given up on years before, but once the met me, they evolved and became what so many said they never would become, educated.Vgotsky talked about the zone of proximal development and potential.
