A Little Bit About Me...

After receiving my bachelor's degree, I went to school part time to work on my Master's degree while subbing in area schools. I accepted a position as a teaching assistant, and two long term positions. I also tutored a junior high school student in all subjects.
I'm very eager to teach. I love to be able to help children succeed and learn new things. I do whatever it takes to make this happen, and adjust my style as needed for each student. I like to make a difference, especially through education.

Currently, I hold certifications in both Early Childhood Education and Childhood Education 1-6. This summer (2010), I will also be receiving my Master’s in Reading and obtaining an additional certification in Literacy. I have taught children in kindergarten and first, third, and fifth grades. As a result, I understand where children need to be as readers and writers during the primary years in order to experience success.
It is my sincere hope that all of my students will feel empowered not only with knowledge, but with self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-determination. I love teaching and working with children and adults. I, myself have achieved a high level of excellence in education by completing two degrees and plan on completing my BS in Nursing. While at West Chester University, I had to take Statistics and Probability and that was because I was in the excelled Math program in high school. I had all Math courses up to and including Advanced Algebra. While attending Adirondack Community College, I had to take a Medical Math course that covered many conversions.
