Experienced high school and middle school math tutor

I have taught high school math for the past 4 years involving Algebra I and Algebra II ( at various levels) and Geometry and Pre-Calculus. I have worked as a tutor for the past 6 years in these subject areas as well. I have also worked with middle school students who were taking basic math or Pre-Algebra courses. I took a course at UNH to learn strategies and techniques involved with tutoring.

My comments on tutoring Algebra III : I hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Statistics and have experience teaching undergraduates and graduates.

My diverse skills and experience in mathematics, statistics, and computer programming should be advantageous in this circumstance. I have worked with mathematical software and statistical models since 1989 and love doing collaborative statistical and mathematical research to solve challenging problems. A Little Bit About Me...

I'm a recent graduate from Brown University, with experience tutoring at the middle school, high school, and college levels. Math and Biology are my favorite things to teach--I love the subject matter and I love to see it "click" with students. In math, I received an 800 score on the SAT, and a score of 5 on each the Calculus AB and BC exams. I also tutored algebra as a high school student. I always do my best to be kind and understanding to every student I have. I know that everyone has different learning speeds and different proficiencies, so I always try to be accommodating of that. I also try to present material in different ways if the student doesn't understand it the first time.
I have worked as a teacher aide at Temple Shalom Emeth Hebrew School. There I performed small tasks around the classroom, and assisted students in learning Hebrew and more about their Jewish heritage. I also have an ongoing job as a tutor at Salem State University's math lab. During school semesters, I help students with their homework, study for tests, and understand material better.
