A Little Bit About Me...

I do not have a definitive teaching style. When teaching someone, I usually try to adapt to their learning style, and if they do not have a strategy that works, I help them develop a good learning style and get comfortable with it. I like to think I make learning difficult things more fun and approachable.
I absolutely love performing and any aspect of theatre. I love learning and growing in my theatre knowledge and experiences. I have been performing in some way my whole world and love to share my passion with others. I also love English and Shakespeare; obviously these both go hand in hand with theatre!

My comments on tutoring Musical : I have not only received training in playing instruments but also other musical aspects

I have been doing something in music for 30 years. I have a B.A in music from Wright State University which I obtained in 2003. I also have 6 years of private music instruction on various instruments. I have played in several different groups consisting of a wide range of music. I have classical training but I also know how to teach rock, pop, jazz and metal on certain instruments
I believe that every child is unique and needs to have a teaching style unique to them

I believe that all children should receive the extra help that they need. Often time in the classroom, a teacher does not have the time to give the support of the needs of each student in the classroom. Teachers and tutors should try their best to make sure they focus on individual needs of the students so that they can help them succeed.
As a recent college graduate, I feel that I have received the formal training necessary to become a teacher. I have obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education. Over the past two years I have also spent time tutoring elementary school children in the subject of reading, and also spent about 3 months working one on one with various students in a nearby school district.

A Little Bit About Me...

I feel very strongly that every child has the ability to learn when they are given the right encouragement. While working on my Japanese minor I quickly discovered that finding a method that works for an individual student is the most important part of studying productively. I feel that my fresh, creative outlook will supplement the classroom experience well and offer alternative methods to learning that may not be available at your child's school.
While I have not tutored academically in the past, I have taught my community's equivalent of the DARE program to fourth grade classes for two years and have also taught art lessons to children of all ages.

Being a current student myself, I can appreciate the hardships and struggles of education. I feel that you must always level with your students, no matter what the age. The students are the ones who must lead the class. However, we as educators have a duty to guide and to nourish this idea. We must be leaders who encourage a positive and productive learning environment, while also maintaining an enjoyable experience. I believe in a split between communicative and explicit teaching. I try to devote the day to getting kids interested in learning while covering the topics necessary. I cater to each child's needs and abilities and try to use their strength's to help their weaknesses. For example when teaching foreign language, if a child is not as strong in language as they are in math, I try to use formulas to portray language in a more concrete manner. I enjoy working with children of all ages and find that they enjoy working with me due to the enthusiasm I show them.
