Elementary Math is one of my top subjects! I have been working intervention for elementary students in math from kindergarten to 6th grade. I use a multi sensory approach explaining why math works. This works great for pattern thinkers.

ORTON-Gilingham multi sensory approach. Math without words until the concept is mastered. Using lots of manipulatives including video games, that teach concepts.
I Have worked for the Davis County School district for 12 years. The last few years I have been working intervention for students who are not performing at grade level. I have learned that not all kids can learn the way they are taught in school. My 8 year old is dyslexic. I Have studied the Orton-Gilingham multisensory approach to reading and spelling. I have also learned to engage children in activities that are fun and creative. I will not be doing the same teaching style as there school.

Growing up I always loved working with children. I chose to pursue that love by going to college to obtain a teaching degree. I have a BS in Health and Kinesiology in the College of Education from Texas A&M University. After finishing my student teaching and awaiting a teaching job, I furthered my teaching experience by tutoring.
