Attaining two degrees has opened my eyes to many different teaching styles and ways of learning. I believe that the most effective way to learn and teach is to explain concepts and theories thoroughly before any application of these concepts. I began school as a Biology major for 2 years, so I have a great science background. I love to teach children. I finished my Masters program in December 07 and began teaching at the school I did my internship at, Briarcliff MS. I taught grades 6-8 and filled in for a Special Ed teacher at the end of the year. Also during that time I tutored a group of 6 graders in Math.
I don't think there is anything better than the feeling of helping a child learn. Every student have the ability to learn, we have to adapt our teaching styles so that all students can understand. Our job as teachers is to prepare students for their future. Through education and a caring, nurturing and creative teacher, that is what I hope to give all my students, a future.
