I have worked in a higher education environment since 2000. I tuaught CPR and First Aid classes for 4 years for Child Care providers from 1996 to 2000. I am one class from completing my MBA in accounting. I will officially graduate in May of 2010. I developed a heart for young people at an early age, as my parents were missionaries to Native Americans. I truly believe that education has changed my life and promote higher education. I am able to relate to children of all ages and in the past two years especially related to high school and young college students who were looking for their way in life.

In college, I was a Math Tutor in all the requisite courses and calculus. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Math and BS in Mechanical Engineering, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. While working as a Designer at Boeing Aerospace I taught freshman level technical courses at Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. I taught there from 1993 thru 1999. My classes included drafting, design, basic 2D AutoCAD, shop math, shop safety & general manufacturing practices. When teaching in a classrom environment I prefer to divide the class time between lecture and practice. When tutoring I use a sumwhat different approach. I first will have the student show me how they think they are supposed to approach the problem. I will then work through the problem & let them see where their approach is right & where they need to change. Using this method in a positve manner has proven very successful in the past.

I have worked almost continuously at Wichita Collegiate School over the last 8-9 years. During high school I worked in the Early Childhood after-school program and summer programs. Since graduating from Colorado State University I have substituted in multiple age groups and for a variety of course work areas. In addition, I have received an Associates Degree in Elementary Education and am working towards a Teaching License. I completed an unpaid internship at the YMCA of the Ozarks, Camp Lakewood in Missouri. I have worked with a multitude of students in a wide variety of subjects. I have completed my B.A. from Regent University in Government. I have strong skills in logic, math, and political philosophy. The program that I completed placed a strong emphasis on reading and writing skills and because of that I have also become proficient in writing and English related processes. I was a tutor at Butler County Community College for almost two years. I helped students through all of the math courses up to Calculus III. I have always been very enthusiastic about learning and always find myself helping others to discover a deeper understanding of a subject.
