My comments on tutoring World History : I minored in history, and took several courses on World History (Mostly European). I received a 5 on my AP European History exam in high school.

I finished as an undergraduate with a major in economics, and minors in history, philosophy and religion. Next I worked for a year as a political risk analyst for a large multinational company helping them evaluate risks inherent to investing in unfamiliar environments. I found I enjoyed the work, but wanted to get more economics training with the hope of teaching economics. I moved from the for-profit company to their non-profit foundation that sponsored economic research, and spent the next 4 years evaluating grants in the area of economics, public policy, law and political science. I always found that one of my favorite parts of my job was teaching those I supervised about economics and government. I graduated from Mount Union College in May 2006 with a BA in History and a double minor in Adoloescent to Young Adult Education and American Studies. Throughout high school I was a teacher's assistant helping with students in class during my study halls as well as working one on one with students for extra study skills. Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.
Web manager and usability analyst as well as instructor. I have been asked at various jobs to teach training classes to my peers because of my ability to deliver an easy to understand lesson. I know what it takes to teach and learn a foreign language because I am fluent in French. I was inspired by watching the great teachers that I had in high school and college. I have taught English as a second language, so I have classroom experience to add to my general knowledge of the language and culture.
I believe in letting the child set the pace when it comes to private tutoring. I would listen to child to learn what truly interests them and inspires them.
