My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I have a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My creative writing experience includes poetry, short fiction, and young adult/children's fiction. I recently finished writing a novel and am in the (hopeful) process of publication.

I have a degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and have two years experience writing for the Daily Tar Heel. I have also completed internships with the local NPR station, WUNC, and with the organization AGRADU (Advocates for Grassroots Development in Uganda). I am highly organized, responsible, and driven, and am very personable. I work well with children and young adults; I am the oldest of five children and during high school and college, I worked as a dance teacher and nanny. I'm currently working on publishing my first novel.

I learn best by teaching, and there is nothing I like so well as working with people to help them achieve their goals. Writing is, more than anything, a discipline, and I am a source of accountability, encouragement, and instruction as well as a sounding board for my student's ideas. Constructive criticism is essential to build students up, and I avoid all personal or harsh criticism, as well as praise not based in specifics.

Who Wants To Be A Francophone Too?

I began my French career roughly ten years ago. I knew that French would be at the very center of my existence. Therefore, I decided to dedicate my studies to the language. I even wound up living in France for over a year. I lived in Paris for six months and Montpellier for the rest of the year. It was one of the best experiences of my life; it truly taught me what it means to speak and to understand French, which is why I have made it my goal to aide others in understanding the oftentimes difficult language.

Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.

My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : Lower Elementary Teacher for 15 years. I like to look for the special ways to meet the way a student learns. I believe each child learns differently.

I believe each child has her/his own way in which to learn. It is a process of discovery but my experience and intuition are pretty darn good. I like to combine humor with organization and accountability, on my part, the student's part and as well as the parents'.
I am a previous elementary school teacher, focusing mainly in the lower grades during my 15 years of teaching. Prior to that I was trained and taught Montessori Elementary, Grades 1-3. I believe and was able to teach with a thematic approach in which all subjects were integrated.
