As a student in Health Science, i.e. Medical Technology, I worked in a genetics laboratory for 14 years learning lab instrumentation, trouble-shooting, cytogenetics and professional etiquette. Lectures as well as public presentations of newly discovered genetic abnormalities was my passion. I truly enjoyed preparing and presenting these exciting talks. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught and been certified in four states. Grades 7-9 is the level I prefer, though I have taught at the Junior College level also. History is my major, and having spent much of my youth on the European continent with my father's duty assignments, it is easy to teach the events that have led to the present situations. English and education were my minors, and they have become essential living in an area where more Spanish is spoken than our native tongue. Also the impact of "computer english"has destroyed in many the ability to communicate in a formal manner, with language and vocabulary necessary to achieve success outside the academic sphere.

A Little Bit About Me...

My two and half years of teaching math and physics in high school as well as 8 years of college teaching taught me a great deal about encouraging learning. I also believe that my ability to communicate makes me especially well suited to help students achieve academically. My experiences dramatically improved and expanded my communication skills since I was constantly meeting new people and discussing different topics. I have been a substitute and long-term substitute in SFPS since Oct., 2009. This has been a real eye-opener about the American public schools. I have classroom experience at the elementary and secondary level. While working on my AA degree I worked at a high school in a Language Arts class. Earlier in my education process I worked in a 2nd grade and a 3rd/4th grade class. I worked as a sub at the middle and high school level.
