I believe there is a major difference between teaching the student how to get a good grade and mastering the fundamental concepts that control math and science. When helping a student with Algebra, it is critical to asses their basic skills in mathematical operations. With chemistry, physics and biology it is often a matter of increasing the student’s vocabulary and understanding of the complex terminology and relationships presented by the teacher and the classroom book. My teaching style is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the student and then build a solid foundation of basic skills.

A Little Bit About Me...

Biology and the life sciences are as interesting to me now as when I was in the fifth grade. My education is in microbiology which I have applied in the agrigricultural industry, diabetes research, and pharmaceutical diagnostics. I have been teaching biology and biotechnology classes for the past seven years in communty college and high school. My best asset as a teacher is finding a way to make the material interesting and relevant to my students.
