I am very dynamic personable adult who loves to laugh, but also knows how to get down to business and get work done. I think it is very important to not only feed information to your student, but also to create a relationship them. This helps the student to feel comfortable so they can ask questions, even those they may feel to be stupid. I have been able to teach non-technical elderly adults computers and teens that had no interest in religion by creating a relaxed atmosphere and attempting to make the subjects interesting, relevant and fun. I believe one of the keys of effective teaching is making things as interactive as possible, trying to get students to teach themselves as we proactively guide them through subjects.

My studio is student focused. Student learn jazz, rock, classical, latin and popular styles. There is an equal focus of reading and performing by ear. Song writing, music therory and improvization are included in students lessons as they show an appitude and willingness to progress. Students are at all levels beginner, intermediate and advanced. The youngest was 3 and the oldest 82 years of age.
