I Help Students Tackle Math With Confidence!

I bring both personality and creativity to math sessions, and I am concerned with the intellectual and emotional well-being of all tutees/students. I have enjoyed the personal gratification of tutoring since high school. Since I was 15 years old, I have shared my knowledge and love of mathematics with people of all ages. My comments on tutoring ACT : Passed virtual testing.

I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. I continued tutoring young students and adults in the 1990's, tutoring Basic Math, Basic and Intermediate Algebra, Basic Geometry, English Composition, Speech, Study Skills and the Sciences. In addition, tips were given to enhance test-taking skills in hard-to-Ace subjects like Economics. I have tutored for the Sickle Cell Organization in 2001, helping students catch up numerous missed assignments. I tutor when the opportunity presents itself. I find that the most important aspect of teaching is to consider the student's perspective. It wasn't that long ago that I was a student myself, and I found the most effective teachers were the ones who were able to explain concepts in a variety of ways. Along with this I find it import for a teacher to fully understand a question being asked by a student. I have had teachers give me incorrect answers to questions because their was a communication disconnect. Exercising patience and understanding cannot be over emphasized.
