I believe that the use of the modalities in teaching are quite beneficial and aid in smooth instruction. Visual, hearing and hands-on activities keep the student occupied and on-task. Each student learns in different ways and adapting all into a lesson keeps an engaged mind.
Throughout the past 25 years, I have developed a deep love for learning and helping others. I can usually be found volunteering for local services, outdoors or looking into a new course at the nearby college, etc. I recently completed my first full year of teaching in Houston, TX. I taught 6th grade Social Studies and Language Arts in an inner city situation. I believe that I learned just as much as the children or more. Teaching has always been my passion & I enjoy every minute. I believe that all children can learn given the oppurtunity to learn verbally, kinesthetically or whatever way they learn best. Being a preschool teacher I have learned to be patient and strive to give each child the ability to succeed. I have also learned to be versatile in all of my teaching, trying different approaches to learning concepts when one approach doesn't work.
