I graduated with a BA in Biology, along with a minor in secondary education and teaching certification pending the completion of my student teaching in fall 2010. Throughout college, I held many teaching and tutoring positions. I was a site coordinator for the Fast Forward Youth Program, where I tutored underrepresented high school students and helped them gain college access. I love teaching because I truly enjoy seeing the light come on when a student gets it. I have had some excellent teachers in my life and have used their techniques to help students I tutor. I understand there is not one specific way to teach a subject and the key is asking questions to find out what will help a particular student. After graduating from the University of Mississippi I lived in Seoul, South Korea and taught students ages 5-11 English as a Second Language, including math and social studies. This is why students seeking Math help at my University would ask for me specifically, I can take a complicated concept and explain it in a way that makes it seem much simpler, and when one approach doesn't work, I go again from a different direction.
