A commercial banker by trade, I currently teach two (2) classes on financial literacy skills to legal immigrant refugees from India, Burma, and Cuba. This volunteer work is offered through the Catholic Charities arm of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. I started teaching these classes roughly six (6) months ago on a volunteer basis, and the classes have been very well received thus far. Being a father to a 13 year old son, and having close friends with school age children, I have been able to teach some of my ways of doing math in subjects from simple math to algebra to geometry. I believe that there are more ways than one to complete and understand a math problem, and that if done correctly and it is easier to learn and remember, then that may be the way that student better understands that procedure.
As an accounting graduate and a college football player, I learned to have a good sense on how to study and hard work, both on and off the field.
