My teaching style is very hands on. I employ a visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile (VAKT) method for remembering the rules of the English language. This method is described as "direct" or hands on and one-on-one. I only work with one student at a time.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began tutoring privately,as well as,for my school's learning center during the early 1990's. I have continued tutoring privately on and off for the past twenty years. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003. I also taught "at-risk" elementary age children during the summer for the Glendora Unifed School District in Glendora, CA. I have worked quite a lot with elementary school children, whether it be in or outside of work. I have done independent tutor work, mainly in the fields of Art and Language Arts. In the past I had a long-term job in which I was required to interact with young children, and I did so willingly. My comments on tutoring Writing : I have always been a writer, ever since I can remember. I am a certified English and French teacher with 18 years of experience.

My teaching style...? I do not have only one; part of the point of tutoring is the ability to truly tailor styles/strategies to individuals or small groups. I must say that I am the funniest person I know, and I crack myself up all the time. Humor is always one of my favorite/best strategies.
I am a certified teacher of French and English; I have taught both subjects at the middle and high school levels for 18 years.
