I am currently pursuing a degree in secondary education with a specialization in American History. I have a passion for the subject and for helping students succeed. As a teacher in the Rome City School District, my goal is to challenge every student in my classroom. My goal is to improve student achievement and help each individual feel more confident. This is my second year teaching first grade in Rome. Prior to my employment in the Rome City School District, I have worked for BOCES and The House of Good Shepherd. I also have taught Summer School Chemistry at Proctor. I earned my degree from SUNY Cortland.
I love teaching and working with all students. I believe all children can learn and it is about finding the child's learning style. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery. Sometimes I use manipulatives or games to help with instruction. Other times it is a mini lecture or work sheets. It all depends the child and the material that needs to be taught.

I love to help a student work their way through any difficulty they are having in any of the major subjects. It is always a challenge to direct the students learning and not do the work for them. But it is a good challenge! While I was a supervisor in the ACE based Christian school, I helped many of the students in the school to understand the areas, especially of math and science, where they had difficulty.
