My teaching style is as follows: If C-A-T spells cat, what does H-A-T spell? If H-A-T spells HAT what does M-A-T spell? I found that this method is very effective with adults as well as children.
Throughout my college years I tutored young adults in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. I continue to tutor children in my Cobb County neighborhood on a voluntary basis.
