I consider myself a facilitator, not an authoritarian. I ascribe to the principles set forth by Malcolm Knowels and Benjamin Bloom. I rely on the strength and motivation of the student. I hesitate to call myself "teacher." I think I serve better as a guide which, hopefully, leads his client not just to a more enlightend place, but also to the place the client wants to be, or had in mind in the first place.
I started teaching Music in 1984. I taught part-time, temporary while pursuing education goals and working as a professional musician. In 1998 I became an adult educator, and in the following nine years I taught GED, Workforce, Computer and ESL. I learned to speak Spanish from some of my ESL students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been involved in a lot of activities and feel the best way to teach is to relate to the student. As a tutor, I have worked with many different types of students and I found a way to relate the information to something they were interested in. I believe all students are capable of learning the material; it just has to be presented in a way they understand.
I received my BS degree in 2007 in pre-medicine. I majored in pre-professional zoology and I have a minor in biochemistry. I also worked at the Talent Development Center as a tutor for biology, botany, chemistry and biochemistry. I have a strong background in all science courses and maintained a 3.87 GPA throughout college.

My experience includes private applied instruction in Voice, Piano, and Drama; substitute classroom instruction for various subjects at both elementary and secondary levels; and one-on-one aide work with special needs students. Since graduating with my Bachelor's of Music: Composition from the University of Redlands in 2006 (after only five semesters of residence), I have passionately pursued the transformative labor of education, particularly as concerns youth.
