I started by tutoring introduction to chemistry- college level at the University of Texas - El Paso where I attended. This was a part time student job that made me consider teaching. I then tutored chemistry, physics, and mathematics at a nearby high school. This was the preparation for the state exam (Texas) called TAKS. This introduced me to the high school level and I liked it. I went ahead and worked with the school district for one more semester before I was assigned a school for my internship/student teaching. After I graduated, I moved to Colorado (Greeley) where I worked at Northridge high school as a math teacher 2009-2010 school year.

I am a student centered educator. Students come into every situation with their own set of experiences. I also am aware that each individual has a preferred way to learn. I like to identify these experiences and preferences as a way to gain insight and thus provide an individual learning approach. In addition to a whole student approach, I value humor and simplicity.
