The first thing I’d like to first teach my students about Math, Arabic, and French is that they are relevant and fun, so they are in turn interested in learning them, which will make the subject easy to teach, and allow for pleasant engagement of the students and myself. Math and languages require the students to be active participants. I have come to learn that those who attend lectures passively tend to fall behind. While the material can be sometimes overwhelming, one approach I have employed and has led to successful results is setting clear and short-term goals that are achievable but also challenging. With a Masters degree in psychology, I have acquired the skill to better understand nonverbal communication, facial expressions and behaviors, to recognize confusion or uncertainty and address it before proceeding to the next chapter or assignment.
