I have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of children. I believe that every child can learn when given the opportunity. I strongly believe that teachers have the most important job in the world because they are the profession that educates all others. I love children and teaching. I am patient and I understand that all students won’t learn the same way, but ultimately all students can learn.
I have taught for 5 years. I have taught grades 6-8. I have taught Social Studies, English, and Literature. I have a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I also have a Master’s degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. I have taught a wide range of students, from very diverse backgrounds. A Little Bit About Me...

The major benefit of a one-on-one tutoring environment is that a student can be taught in the manner which best suits their personal learning style. I believe it is imperative to identify a student's preferred learning style and to adapt my teaching accordingly. When working with a student, I prefer to allow the student to work through a problem and discover the answers themselves, while I guide and instruct them, instead of merely showing them. While grades and test scores are obviously important, it is my main goal to increase a student's confidence in a subject. With confidence comes ease and familiarity, and an ability to apply knowledge critically. I hope that the skills I teach my students will aid them in all their endeavors.
