My experience at the center has helped me develop methods for helping students plan and organize papers, and also for addressing grammar and style issues. I also have a lot of experience working with ESL students.
I consider myself a very laid back person and am flexible in terms of addressing the student's concerns. I primarily work in subjects related to writing. My training is in philosophy, so I tend to focus on helping students develop strong reasoning/arguing skills and a precise voice. Language Arts is one of my top subjects! Preliminary certification obtained in Massachusetts. Required taking and passing M.T.E.L. test in Language Arts.

I believe in identifying where a student lies on the subject he/she is studying before going further. The advantage of one on one tutoring compared to classroom is that the lesson can be based around where the student’s strengths and weaknesses are rather than a blanket method. I also believe that the skills used in English can be best practiced and analyzed through writing rather than worksheets and tests. Therefore, I believe in having the student write on a variety of subjects and working through these pieces to show where they can improve.
