Excellent, Engish-1st-Language Math, Science & Music teacher

I am a laid-back, personable and practical instructor with a knack for simplifying math terminology down to everyday language, skilled at translating what appears to be a complicated concept into it's most basic, understandable form. I attempt to explain why something works the way it does because a student having that understanding will help him or her retain and be able to use the concept. I believe that one-on-one math instruction is the ideal approach to teaching / learning math because a tutor can watch exactly what a student is doing and make corrections that the student might not even realize he/she is making. A Little Bit About Me...

I encourage all of my students to abandon what they think they should know for what they already know, and to take it from there. I am a very patient instructor for adult beginners. I expect progress from all of my students and I set firm guidelines and expections at every lesson. Music students will also receive a solid foundation in music theory.
Education is a very powerful tool. I enjoy seeing students progress from square one to fully capable musicians. I have been teaching privately for the past two years giving private instruction in piano, french horn, and harp. I will be completing my bachelors in music performance from Ohio State this spring. I also give tutoring in music theory for interested students.
