My entire background revolves around teaching. I taught in a Preschool while I was working on my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While there I worked with all ages from Infants to the School Age children. After completing my degree I then went to teach in a public school. The first year I taught and ran the Preschool Program of about 50 children, ages 3 to 5 years. The next four years I taught third grade where our emphasis was on reading comprehension, analytical thinking skills, and writing. After leaving the public school arena I completed my MBA and then moved on to teaching adults. Lately I have been working at a local hospital instructing Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Clinic Managers on integrating their new Electronic Health Records program.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very patient teacher. If it seems someone is 'just not getting it' I will try a different approach. People learn at different levels, and what works for one does not always work for another; therefore,finding the way for each individual student is the key. I have also found that most people learn a task by 'hands on' learning, not listening to how it should be done. In this situation, giving someone the tools to do the work themselves gives them the confidence to do it, and feel good about conquering the challenge.
As a working professional, I was driven later in life to get a degree that was started right after high school. I initially had 90 course hours towards a Social Work degree, and when I returned changed it to business. I have a BS in Business Management, and I only have one class left to get my Masters(MBA). I feel capable and confident teaching children of any age and aptitude. I am a firm believer in setting up a solid foundation of competence in a subject before moving on.
