A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored children for many years in multiple subject areas throughout my undergraduate degree. In my student teaching, I taught students in all subjects. Most recently, I have tutored in reading toward my Master's degree. I have tutored children in both narrative and content area reading.
My style of teaching involves asking questions that guide students toward discovery. I often act as a model to show students the behaviors of 'good' readers then gradually allow them to take ownership of their reading. I use surveys to find out my students' interests so that they are always motivated to read.
