I sincerely believe that all students are teachers themselves. At any age, youth have the unrestricted ability to create and imagine anything they want. As a teacher, I believe it is my duty to guide the youth to find these paths of creation. Specifically, I believe that a student of any age, of any background, and of any ability has the ability to succeed in a musical setting. Although I firmly believe in the classical teaching methods, I also highly regard the guidance of self-teaching methods that allow youth and adults to create. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2007 from SUNY Brockport with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, English and Special Education. I have worked as a substitute teacher in all grade levels and in all subject areas. I have been accepted into a high degree Masters program but feel I need to have a job to justify the repayment(s) of additional student loans that would be needed to finish my MA. I have recently been a four county advocate for people with special needs as the Disabilities Program Navigator. I would still hold this position if funding had not run out.
