I have tutored at the middle, high school, and college levels since my first year of college in 2004. Since then, I have worked as a paraeducator for the Special Education Dept. of an elementary school where I worked with first and second graders. For my student teaching experience, I was an intern for a full year at a city middle school, working with 8th graders in the subjects of science (primary), communication arts, and math. Developing a good practical understanding of the subject matter has been my main motivation for tutoring students. My approach to curriculum based or assignment based teaching may be slightly different (depending upon the understanding of the subject matter by the student), but I believe it should lead to the same result. It involves the use of a structured approach (develop plan of various sessions), enhance the learning experience through practical methods, accessing the progress and getting feedback.
