A Little Bit About Me...

I'm in my senior year of High School, I have worked with my siblings on their school all of my life. I've helped my little brother who has ADHD with his homework, I've worked with him through book projects, spelling tests, history homework, pretty much anything and everything. I'm also very talented in the English area, writing and grammar specifically. Can write with both my right and my left hands, I work well with children no matter the age.
Teaching style varies on the child in questions ability to learn. I'm patient and will do anything it takes to help the child.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a tutor I have discovered that everyone learns differently; therefore, I try to find ways to adapt my own tutoring style to the learning styles of the people I tutor. I can be more hands-on if the student requires it, but I can also act as more of a general guide. I believe that it is important for the students to be in charge of the sessions, so I try my best to take my cues from them. I also think it is important to have realistic expectations of the students I tutor. My goal is not to make them English majors or professional writers, but to give them the tools they need to write as effectively as they possibly can.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am in the Education field to make a difference in student’s lives. I hope to do this through instruction and example. I believe these two elements intertwined and essential for any educator. I am value the “Teacher as facilitator” education model. Today, I classify my teaching style as a constructivist theory with humanist elements. I believe that a combination of these three models will ensure the greatest amount of learning for students as I prepare them for further education. In my experience, working with at-risk, failing, or youth in general requires a level of acceptance from the student. Educators cannot reach that level if they talk down to their students.
