I believe all children can learn and that it is the responsibility of the teacher to reach the student. I develop relationships with my students and make learning real for them. I teach using real world scenarios to make learning meaningful. I use hands on lessons when appropriate and teach using mneumonic devices for learning.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999 from University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education and Communications. I am also National Board Certified in area of Middle Childhood Generalist. I am certified 6-9 and 9-12 English. Turning your weakness into your strength

I have been tutoring for over seven years, starting with my peers in tenth grade. I have tutored a wide range of subjects, from Geometry through Calculus III, from general computer knowledge through utilizing the advanced functions of Microsoft Access. I have tutored people ranging from my peers to people three times my age, to as young as third graders. My motto has evolved into "Helping those who feel they can not be helped"
I help guide the student along, having them discover much of the information in a trial and error fashion. I tend to use the questions they are struggling with the most, making similar examples, then walking them through these problems and breaking down the problems until the student understands the how the process works.
