Reading Comprehension Tutor Seeks New Learners!

I have over thirty years of experience in the field of both Elementary and Secondary Education. I have taught in several Elementary and Secondary schools and also as a Public Historical Interpreter in a major museum here in North Carolina. Currently I am an experienced Reading Comprehension Tutor at an award winning elementary school located in Western North Carolina.
I believe in working closely with parents,guardians and students. I meet the student where there are and assist and support them in understanding the subject. Reading Comprehension is a new skill of mine and I have two years of experience in the field. My comments on tutoring Language Arts : I am certified teacher at the Master's level with certifications for early childhood, elementary, special education, ESL and reading specialist. I am trained in Orton Gillingham and the Wilson program.

I use a multi-sensory approach when teaching to meet the student's needs. I also incorporate lots of games and personal experience to make it fun and engaging.
I graduated from Arcadia University with a Bachelor's degree in education from Arcadia University in 2014. I then went on to earn my Master's degree in education a year later from Arcadia University. Since that time, I was a classroom teacher for special needs students in an elementary setting and the lead EC teacher at my school and served on our student support team and school improvement team before becoming a district educational diagnostician. I have been tutoring since high school and have worked with students from preschool to college. I have been trained in the Wilson and Orton Gillingham reading approaches as well as mindfulness for children and teens.
