I have worked as a substitute teacher as well as a private tutor. I have more than 12 years experience working in childcare. While doing this, I worked with all ages and as an Assistant Director. I worked at Bullock Elementary as a tutor for Measurements, Inc. Currently, I work part time at the Down East Partnership for Children.I am a single parent of three daughters. I enjoy teaching children to read and am proficient in teaching mathematics to younger children. I do well teaching one on one with no distractions. I am firm, but not mean. When it is time to tutor, nothing else is allowed but schoolwork. My thing is repetition. Writing everything out and practice, practice, practice. Memorize to learn, not memorize just to pass a test. Lower Elementary Teacher for 15 years. I like to look for the special ways to meet the way a student learns. I believe each child learns differently. I believe each child has her/his own way in which to learn. It is a process of discovery but my experience and intuition are pretty darn good.
