I am a biology graduate from the University of Colorado. I am planning on getting my PhD in Molecular Bio-science. I love biology and all of the other subjects withing biology (ie. molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, ecology etc. ) I also enjoy math a lot my degree only required me to complete Calc. As language is universal and so critial in conveying ideas, I truly enjoy teaching others to express themselves verbally and in writing. I believe it is important to explain the value of a particular subject matter and give a detailed summary of what should be accomplished in the lesson. I utilize a rather formal teaching style, because language has specific "rules" as far as what is correct or incorrect and what is acceptable speech, as opposed to unacceptable slang terminology.

After graduating from Vanderbilt University I taught 5th grade for 2 years while working on my Master's at TSU. I then moved to the Knoxville area and taught K until my son was born in 2000. We then moved to Wisconsin where I taught in various after school programs until my 2 children were old enough for preschool. I then went back part time and taught 4 K until my 3rd child was born in 2005. Throughout this entire time I tutored various children ages 8 - 15 years if age.
My teaching style can best be described as varied! I believe that children learn in numerous ways, so as an educator it is my responsibility to provide multiple experiences - visual, oral, tactile, etc. A person walking by my classroom would see children smiling, working in groups, accomplishing projects, and would hear noise.
