I have tutored children in reading last summer. It was one of the most gratifying things I have done. I worked with English as second language children ranging from ages 5 to 13. We used a lesson plan and several activities to help children in achieving their reading level goals. Also, in my undergrad experience, I excelled in writing and was very good with meeting deadlines. I am a very down to earth person especially when it comes to kids. I always try to lighten up the mood and make learning things interesting and fun. I don't like to dismiss when I see a child having trouble in something. Every person has a different way of learning, I try to cater to each of their needs.

My teaching style is very unique. I start off by just getting to know the student and having them get to know and trust me. I then build on that trust factor while helping the students with their homework. I connect well with students and they trust me. In the end, it seems to be the best way the students I work with learn and finish their work. Learning should be fun and not boring. It should be interactive and not just book work.
