My comments on tutoring Elementary Social Studies : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced and Intermediate math and language arts in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

I spent those two years tutoring students on the composition and structure of essays, and helped them edit and proofread their work. The style of teaching I choose to use is based on the learning style of the student. I have been educated in the various styles of teaching and base my style on what best suits the student I am working with at the time. Most children learn from hand-on teaching, so that is a style I use most often. Working one-on-one with a student gives the tutor a chance to use various styles within the teaching efforts.
