My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : Currently teaching phonics for Kindergarten and First grade. I am able to teach beginning literacy skills.

I have been a teacher with CPS for four years. I am currently a Special Education teacher for grades K-5. I teach a caseload of 33 students ranging in abilities. I have a significant amount of experience teaching reading, math, and writing to struggling learners. In addition to working with students that have disabilities, I also have a degree in Elementary Education. I teach regular education students within my intervention groups throughout my school day. I am an Elementary Education major at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. I have many hours of field experience that I have completed for my education courses. I have helped out with all age groups during my field experience. My father is a teacher and my mother runs a daycare in our home, so I have spent much time teaching children various subjects, along with helping children with their homework.
I believe it is so important to be a stepping stone for a child. You should be there for them when they start to stumble, but you shouldn't do everything for them.

A Little Bit About Me...

I still recall the early days when I was wrestling with foreign languages. Our French teacher had a positive impact on my teaching skills in that each time she made me feel that I need to put myself in the student's place to get the message across. Trying to come up with different examples to convey the same message. Most importantly, learning a foreign language needs patience and a lot of pratice.
