My comments on tutoring GED : I have spent a summer teaching a GED preparatory course and have privately tutored several students in their preparation for the GED test.

I have been a dynamic, successful elementary, middle and high school teacher as well as college instructor of Art, English, French and History for many years. GED is one of my top subjects! I am the Adult Education Program Manager for a non-profit organization which prepares hundreds of students for the GED test.

I am patient yet firm. I expect students to be accountable for their own success; I want my students to become self-sufficient. With proper guidance and encouragement most students will succeed if not excel.
I taught high school English for three years. My students ranged from far below basic to advanced. My students consistently showed improvement in their standardized test scores and over 95% of my students passed the course. Also, Over 95% of my sophomore passed the CAHSEE.
