When the conventional has not worked!!!

I have worked in schools in Kentucky and Ohio. I have been a tutor, intervention aide, long term substitute teacher, and regular classroom teacher. I communicate freely with my students, and am always ranked among the most well-liked and effective instructors by my students. My best skill is helping students find what is in it for them to learn and use the material. I currently teach (adjunct) at a career College where I teach English, history, strategies for success, and communications classes.
Student-centered, Co-intentional. I believe that the key to learning is the motivation to want to learn. Once that has been accomplished, just stand back and guide the student to what they want next.

Patient, charismatic, unique, outside-the-box teaching style

As a Sales & C.S. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a passion for teaching. I beleive it was what I was born to do. I believe learning can be fun and stress free. I am patient, easy going and a "friend" to my students. I beleive all children can succeed if given the proper tools.
I am a Marshall University student and Adjunct Faculty member. I have earned a bachelor degree in Communications Studies with a minor in Public Relations. In 2006, I received a Master's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Oral Speaking. Presently, I am two semesters away from an Ed.S. in Higher Education with hopes of entering the doctorate program next fall. I love teaching children and helping them to achieve their academic goals. I am very organized and detail oriented and use those skills to organize and priortize the student's needs and specific way to achieve them. I help them set their own goals. I use a variety of curriculum and begin at the level they are at presently. I use a variety of visual aids and materials. I find what works best for the individual student, which involves getting to know the student and making a personal connection with him/her.
