As a teacher I believe that students learn best by doing, so I plan my lessons to engage students with meaningful activities that are mastered with hands on activity rather than teacher lead discussion. I like to first show a basic example of the problem, then show how the problem can be solved. I will then show another example that is a little more involved. After this, I let the person being mentored try solving a similar problem. I implemented and maintained custom code for a number of clients, and I performd lead programmer functions and mentor others. Every few months I conducted "lunch and learns" for programmers and analysts. During these sessions I would describe what code was doing in a particular module. This would help them with their implementations.

I entered DeVry University in Summer of 2007 as an Accounting/Business Major looking to aquire my Associates of Applied Science in Accounting. I took a variety of general education classes such as business, math, english, and science. I attended the school for a few months earning credits before having to take a break to go home and be with my father who was suffering from a serious illness. I did extremely well in the areas of math and english which required extensive hours spent on research and studying. I have been privately tutoring children over the past three years. I took a few classes on teaching at a small community college while I was still in high school. I still am considering becoming a teacher after going back to school to complete my major in accounting.
