I attended Northeastern Illinois University and obtained a B.A. degree in Elementary & Special Education, with honors. My first job, straight out of college was as an Educational Consultant. I trained teacher how to us computers to install educational programs for their students. After four years I was transfered to Florida. I resigned after a year and returned to Chicago. I began teaching 22 years ago at a middle school and later taught high school when I relocated to the beach. I also tutored at a local community college. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from a small liberal arts college. There I had my eyes opened to a whole new world of thinking and learning. I received my Bachelors degree in physical education with a minor in coaching. I have a special teaching certificate from the state of Illinois that allows me to teach K-12. I have 6 years of experience working with children of all age, race, and backgrounds. I have been substituting for the past two years at various school districts at various positions.
My teaching style is to get all the children involved with the lesson. I feel that students learn better when they are the ones doing the problem at hand and I am there to help them out along the way. My classrooms involve learning-centered groups in a workshop approach. I find that students are encouraged by the examples of other writers and learners at their own levels. I provide a great deal of individual feedback on assignments. I encourage the imitation of examples in writing and the discovery of other writing styles.
