A Little Bit About Me...

Over the course of the past 10 years I have spent time working with students struggling to develop their academic skills, particularly in the areas of language arts and the social studies. From my initial work as a foster care academic transitions liaison,to the attainment of my M.ED., my broad service as a classroom teacher, department chair and A.P. program coordinator, I have been fortunate to work with students from across the broadest possible ability spectrum and have learned to sow the seeds of confidence and success in learners of all competency and motivational levels.

I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.
I am a recent graduate of kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I believe that I am competent in various areas of biology and chemistry, and will be able to convey that competence. I have taught and tutored at my church and in other volunteer programs since high school. I also currently give drum lessons at a Stephen's Music Company.
