I believe that all students can be successful, it's just a matter of finding the right lever to make education enjoyable and relevant in their own lives. I successfully use cross-ciriculum education in order to teach students at a higher level of Bloom's, thus insuring greater retention rates. I use scaffolding to build upon prior knowledge in order to keep new information relevant to the student. I have a degree in Math and I am currently 3/4 complete for a Masters in Elem. Education w/Certif. I have been a substitute teacher for 2 years, w/1 long term sub teaching position of 3 mos at the elem level, and 1 long term sub position of 6 wks at the high school level in Algebra, Geometry, and Advanced Geometry. I have 4 children who have all taken advanced Mathematics classes, with my occasional assistance. I spent almost 30 years writing and managing government technical proposals for the computer industry. I also spent time tutoring two children at the third and sixth grade levels. I taught Religious Education as a volunteer at the pre-school, kindergarten, third grade, and high school levels.
