I taught at the elementary level (K-6th) for 14 years; at the junior high level (7th-8th) for 3 years and at the high school level (9th-12th) for 10 years. My strength is teaching basic skills (reading and math) and organizational/study skills and helping students to realize their individual potential.
My teaching style depends upon the learning style of the student. For example, if the student is a visual learner then the student is taught using pictures, books, charts, etc. Or if the student is an auditory learner then the student is taught orally with pictures, books, charts used as supports. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of BYU-Idaho I have learned the importance of education and how blessed an individual is who pursues it. I was able to take numerous courses dealing with reading, writing and psychological development of children. I have been been able to work with children and help with areas of struggle since last fall. The ages being between 4-14. Ever since I can remember, my mother has stressed the importance of obtaining a degree in higher education. Because of this, I have furthered my education by attending college. I am currently a senior at Brigham Young University, Idaho. I am majoring in Animal Science and minoring in Chemistry. I was a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints and taught the gospel. I also had the opportunity while I was on my mission to teach Spanish to adults who were interested from the community. A Little Bit About Me...

It was a drive within my nature or inner self to pursue a course in Child Development and Family Relations and a minor in Psychology as I attended college at Ricks College and Brigham Young University. My direction following those events led me to teach as an assistant teacher and then as a classroom teacher at a private school working with the young children in Preschool and Kindergarten. As a business major I learned alot about the importance of language and communication. I took classes in english, and writing. I was a tutor for over 100 students for 2 years in finance and taght a class twice a week on Microsoft Excel. In high school I volunteered at an elementary school to help children with ADD and behavioral issues for 3 trimesters. I was a staff member at Cedar Badge, a week long leadership training course for scouts, teaching leadership skills.
I like to have visuals. They are important no matter what age. i use powerpoint, pictures, think of stories, and try to get the students involved as much as they can. People either learn, by seeng, doing, or both, so it is good to teach using all of the learning tools.
