All of these areas come together to work as one complex mechanism, and in order for an individual to be a successful reader they must be successful in all of these areas. An individual must have the skills and compensatory strategies needed to help them master these various components to the reading process. In the spring of 2008, I graduated with my Master's of Arts degree in English from the University of Toledo. While studying at the graduate level, I was awarded a teaching assistantship, which allowed me to teach three sections of Composition I (Engl 1110) and two sections of Composition II (Engl 1140).
