I try to find out my students strong points and learnign style and create a lesson plan that they will understand and comprehend. I take the time to get to know my students needs so I can better meet them I graduated from Mesa State college with a degree in mathematics with a secondary in teaching. I had most of my teaching intern done at a middle school or high school level as wella s tutoring veterans in the chapter 31 program while i was a student.

I began tutoring in high school then in college, I majored in mathematics to pursue a career in teaching. My career took another direction yet I continued my passion for teaching others through tutoring at local non-profits. Last year, I taught 8th grade math at a local public middle school. This past summer, I taught summer school to 3-5th graders in both math and English. This year, I continue teaching through tutoring at an elementary school. As a grad assistant in college, I worked for two years teaching students business software programs in a class room environment. I have also been a team leader in an engineering firm (Parsons Brinckerhoff) in which I liased constantly with both the public and field representatives. I like teaching by example -- that is, a given example of a real world problem that correlates with the subject at hand. Teaching is one of the most satisfying things I have ever done. I believe that everybody can learn, you just have to find the right teaching method for that individual. There are only a hand full of methods to choose from, they include: hands on, visual, reading, hearing or some unique blend of these. These are not the only methods, but these would cover most individuals. While I was teaching I would explain the material how I understood it. If that did not work it forced me to back up and come at it from a different angle. This process not only helped the students to understand the material, it also helped strengthen my understanding of the material.
