My comments on tutoring Homework Help : I've been helping people with homework since second grade! :)

I started tutoring in high school for extra credit. I have primarily tutored in mathematics and general chemistry! I tutored a girl in Algebra 1 for a year, helped my best friend and her Mom with college mathematics, and worked through college algebra with my husband. In college I was a teachers assistant for general chemistry 1 and tutored in quantitative chemical analysis. Since then I have tutored a gentlemen for the math portion of his GED. Basically, I love the one-on-one opportunity to help people to find that "light-bulb moment" where the math and science is no longer torture, but instead it makes sense! :)

Math and Science Tutoring

In terms of online tutoring. I make use of a headset microphone and a touch tablet. As well as many free online applications, such as a whiteboard, Skype, and educational resources. During session I prefer to use the course work and text assigned to the student. Doing so allows for the structure of our sessions to easily mesh with those of the course.

Love Kids, Love Writing.

In high school, I was on our school's speech team, I competed at the varsity level all throughout high school. I placed at every competetion, without fail. I placed in advanced English classes in high school, and tested in to the second level of English classes at Western Illinois University my freshman year. I have won state wide writing competetions, and have a poem published in a book of young writers. I went to school for Journalism and Communications, but am currently taking a year off. Manipulatives, flash cards ,games and stimulus equivalence training are just a few. I also believe that a child that needs extra help with a subject should not feel like they are being punished.
