Drawing is one of my top subjects! I have a Masters of Art Education from The Ohio State University. I have taught Elementary visual arts for over 33 years, I am proficient and able to teach painting, drawing, print making, relief sculpture, weaving, and other fine arts children would enjoy. I also would incorporate art history and introduce artists who are relevant to the concept being taught.

I am a retired Art Teacher, with a current Ohio Teaching license and 33 years experience teaching Elementary Visual Arts. I am interested in teaching art to students in a smaller setting and provide more individual training and art experiences. I love children and love children’s art, and feel some children best express themselves through the arts.
The arts teach children to make judgments about their environment without a right or wrong answer, and that there are many ways to look and solve a problems. Art is a way for children to express themselves without words in the literal form or numbers as only measured on standardized tests. A Little Bit About Me...

I can teach many different styles to suit different learning styles. I truly believe in the mastery technique. My 9 year old has ADD and severe dyslexia so i have to employ many different styles to meet her needs. Being a great teacher is all about knowing and understanding your student and how they learn.

I enjoy working with children of all ages. I have a son with a learning disability whom I am now home-schooling. I realize that patience is key when teaching. However, I also feel that children do best when they are presented with a challenge. I use a great deal of encouragement and incentive to help a child achieve his/her goals. A Little Bit About Me...

My very first teaching experience happened during graduate school, as a second grade teacher. Here, I learned how to implement lesson plans according to state guidelines as well as student's focus. After completing grad school, I was a pre-k teacher for 2 years. I learned how to really teach through play, while considering the children developmental appropriate age. Since high school I have been aware that I wanted to teach. I am currently pursueing a Masters of Education, and finishing one of my specializations, (French). I have taught for several businesses. I also taught for the Worthington Public School system as a volunteer and teaching asssistant.
I try to devote the day to getting kids interested in learning while covering the topics necessary. I cater to each child's needs and abilities and try to use their strength's to help their weaknesses. For example when teaching foreign language, if a child is not as strong in language as they are in math, I try to use formulas to portray language in a more concrete manner.
