As a college English professor and high school English teacher with an MA in English, I have had the opportunity to help many young people improve their writing and critical thinking skills. I have also tutored students from middle school to college level English on many occasions. I can help students at all skill levels become better writers and thinkers.
My teaching style is best described as modern Socratic method. Questioning to elicit critical thinking is the essence of education. A Little Bit About Me...

Recognizing that each person has his/her own learning style, I emphasize "application" of material learned. I do this primarily by providing examples of information taught and require my students to do the same. Having been devoted to the welfare of children and families and valuing education highly throughout my life, I find tutoring a satisfying occupation. After vounteering my services for many years, I attained formal degrees in education, psychology, and counseling, with very high GPAs. I really enjoy teaching children and young adult. I take the time out to learn each individuals capabilities and I approach my teaching techniques differently. As a tutor, I have learned patience and enjoyable learning methods. Learning should also be an enjoyable and fun experience and that is another method I use for the younger children so they will enjoy what I am teaching and tutoring them in.
During my time as a college student at Bowie State University, I enjoyed many of my business courses in marketing, law and information systems.
