A Little Bit About Me...

In 2006 I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Engineering Science. It gave me an understanding in a broad range of mathematical areas as well as areas of other sciences. During that time I worked with volunteer organizations like Salem Housing and Habitat for humanity for three years, which enabled me to mentor a variety of ages. In the last year I've worked with a homeschooling group on a project called, "Leaping Lizards."
I love people's capacity for learning. It gives me joy to know that I have helped another learn something new. I am patient, relaxed, and try to keep tutoring interesting for the recipient. Student teaching provided many opportunities to work on various teaching techniques. The student teaching semester consisted of; leading the class in discussion on a daily basis, creating worksheets, conducting lab experiments and other activities, grading homework and tests, and much more. A Little Bit About Me...

After high school, I recognized in myself a desire to work with elementary- and high school-aged children. I have always been at the top of my classes and was heading for an engineering school before I discovered a love for helping kids. I do not have any teaching experience but I spent many summers working with these age groups at camp and enjoy interacting with them.
